Paul Storr Silver Water Kettle on Stand

 

 

Paul Storr (1771-1844) is considered to be the last great silversmith of England.  Dated 1828 and marked Storr and Mortimer, this large Hot Water Kettle weighs 131 ounces and is properly marked on the handle, the lid, the bottom of the kettle, the bottom of the stand, and the bottom of the warmer.  It was most likely designed for a Scottish nobleman.
