Phenomenal mosaic ceiling from a 16th century temple in Burma  is constructed as a large, rectangular wooden frame with two vertical supports connecting three 26″ square sections.  Each of the panel sections has a small brace in each corner to produce octagonal panels. The panels are recessed and are covered all over in mosaic mirrors and colored glass.  Large white, two-tiered rosettes emerge from the center of each panel and multicolored small rosettes are in each corner of the panels.  The frame around the panels has a diamond centered on each side of the panels and the corners of each panel has a raised decoration forming an “X”.  All of the flowers in the panels and the borders of the frame are ornately overlaid with scrolling tendrils and leaves and all of the raised mosaics have gold borders on each piece of glass or mirror.  An exceptionally unusual and rare piece.

Phenomenal mosaic ceiling from a 16th century temple in Burma  is constructed as a large, rectangular wooden frame with two vertical supports connecting three 26″ square sections.  Each of the panel sections has a small brace in each corner to produce octagonal panels. The panels are recessed and are covered all over in mosaic mirrors and colored glass.  Large white, two-tiered rosettes emerge from the center of each panel and multicolored small rosettes are in each corner of the panels.  The frame around the panels has a diamond centered on each side of the panels and the corners of each panel has a raised decoration forming an “X”.  All of the flowers in the panels and the borders of the frame are ornately overlaid with scrolling tendrils and leaves and all of the raised mosaics have gold borders on each piece of glass or mirror.  An exceptionally unusual and rare piece.

Phenomenal mosaic ceiling from a 16th century temple in Burma  is constructed as a large, rectangular wooden frame with two vertical supports connecting three 26″ square sections.  Each of the panel sections has a small brace in each corner to produce octagonal panels. The panels are recessed and are covered all over in mosaic mirrors and colored glass.  Large white, two-tiered rosettes emerge from the center of each panel and multicolored small rosettes are in each corner of the panels.  The frame around the panels has a diamond centered on each side of the panels and the corners of each panel has a raised decoration forming an “X”.  All of the flowers in the panels and the borders of the frame are ornately overlaid with scrolling tendrils and leaves and all of the raised mosaics have gold borders on each piece of glass or mirror.  An exceptionally unusual and rare piece.
